Quote:

The great storehouse of truth is the word of God—-the written book, the book of nature, and the book of experience in God’s dealing with human life.End quote.

Quote:

Waiting for God is not laziness.
Waiting for God is not sleeping.
Waiting for God is not the abandonment of effort.

Waiting for God means, 1st, activity under command;
2nd, readiness for any new command that may come;
3rd, the ability to do nothing until the command is given.

End quote.

—G. Campbell Morgan

Quote:

Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together; and by regulating the action, which is under the more direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling, which is not.End quote.

—William James (Psychologist).  Food for thought.

Quote:

Our lives may seem a tangle; but as we commit ourselves to the wise Master Worker, He will bring out the pattern of life and character that will be to His own glory.End quote.

Quote:

After the one extravagant gesture of creation in the first place, the universe has continued to deal exclusively in extravagances, flinging intricacies and colossi down aeons of emptiness, heaping profusions on profligacies with ever-fresh vigor. The whole show has been on fire from the word go. I come down to the water to cool my eyes. But everywhere I look I see fire; that which isn’t flint is tinder, and the whole world sparks and flames.End quote.

—Annie Dillard, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek.

Quote:

For every promise of God there are conditions. If we are willing to do His will, all His strength is ours. Whatever gift He promises, is in the promise itself. “The seed is the word of God.” Luke 8:11. As surely as the oak is in the acorn, so surely is the gift of God in His promise. If we receive the promise, we have the gift.End quote.

—EGW {Ed 253.3}.

Quote:

He will send His angels to guard you and protect you … and will make it easy for you to do right. Then it will be much easier than if you should try in your own strength.End quote.

—Today I had lunch with a friend, who shared with me how eye opening was the book ‘The Truth about Angels’.  So I’m reading it tonight.  Reading through the ministry of Angels, I realize once again how God has made a wonderful provision to make some things ‘easy’ for me.  Yet I don’t claim much of the resources He has available to help me.  I must ask more. How many times have I made things more difficult just by using ‘my own strenght’?

Quote:

God never intended for us to know good and evil. He is the only one who can know evil and not be affected by it.End quote.

—EGW. From notes in a notebook

Quote:

No plan of life can be sound or complete that embraces only the brief years of this present life and makes no provision for the unending future.End quote.

Quote:

The work of Christ always begins in our heart and moves outward into our everyday experiencesEnd quote.

—From book “revolution of character” by William and Simpson

Quote:

The sweetest part is the rest which full identification with Christ brings. I am no longer anxious about anything, as I realize this, for He, I know, is able to carry out His will, and His will is mine. It makes no matter where He places me; for in the easiest positions He must give me His grace; and in the most difficult His grace us sufficient.End quote.

—Hudson Taylor

Quote:

How you treat the creation reflects how you feel about the creatorEnd quote.

—From book ‘Sex God’ by Rob Bell

Quote:

Thou art the God of the early mornings, the God of the mountain peaks, and the God of the sea; but, my God, my soul has further horizons than the early mornings, deeper darkness than the nights of earth, higher peaks than any of the mountain peaks, greater depths than any sea in nature- Thou who are the God of all these, be my God. I cannot reach to the heights or to the depths; there are motives I cannot trace, dreams I cannot get at— my God, search me outEnd quote.

—Oswald Chambers on Psalm 139

Just now,while asking for the Spirit to guide my study, a seed landed on my Bible. A ‘godwink’ from above: the seed had a perfect heart shape :) Lately I have been pondering about God promises and seeds. The Lord is so full of little details to show His love, if we would only be more receptive.

I though this excerpt from the book Education is very appropriate:

For every promise of God there are conditions. If we are willing to do His will, all His strength is ours. Whatever gift He promises, is in the promise itself. “The seed is the word of God.” Luke 8:11. As surely as the oak is in the acorn, so surely is the gift of God in His promise. If we receive the promise, we have the gift. {Ed 253.3}
